Hotel Zuiderduin

I attended a conference here. It was a great hotel for the conference. My biggest complaint, which isn't much of one, was that it was a bit weirdly laid out. All of the staff were friendly and spoke either English or German. The food here was really good. They had quite a variety of food at each meal, plenty of options for everyone.

The carpet of the room really stinks. The room was clean in dust, but the carpet is very old and has a lot of stains on it. The bathroom has a tub, but the shower did not work. We had a balcony with a lovely view. It was a shame the door had no prtection against flying insects. The staff is very very very friendly. Breakfast buffet is excellent. The location is excellent. There is a pool and a jaccuzi, bowling area, bistro, pub, arcade room and a play area for the kids. It is hot there though. You can hear a lot when you are inside the room from what happens outside. They reaally need to upgrade the carpet.

Average hotel but with an extremely good location, almost right on the beach of Egmond. Prices are decent as well, and mostly will include breakfast. Breakfast was fresh but nothing special (and seems to be every day the same, at least the breakfast this time was exactly the same as I had 3 years ago :)), and there can be some queus for the coffee machines. The room we stayed in was quite noisy (maybe as it could be used as an interconnecting room) and we could easily hear and understand what our neighbours were saying. Bed was fine but there seem to be only single beds in this hotel, no doubles. Parking is free in the basement. The hotel is mostly used for conferences, so it's always busy during the day. Lot of good facilities though, including a bowling lane (all at an extra cost).
