Our experience at the Hougoumont Hotel was absolutely incredible. The location is exceptional, perfectly situated in the heart of Fremantle, close to everything but tucked just far enough away to feel peaceful and relaxed. The rooms were modern, spotlessly clean and thoughtfully designed for comfort. The lobby is beautiful and the complimentary continental breakfast was a lovely touch in the morning. What truly made our stay unforgettable was the staff. Marco went above and beyond by insisting on checking us in early, personally ensuring the room was ready and even delivering our bags himself. The lovely lady at reception greeted us with a warm, genuine smile every time we passed by, creating such a welcoming atmosphere. When we accidentally locked ourselves out of our room, the team quickly resolved it with no fuss and they even let us keep our parking space a little longer before heading home. The level of customer service we received was exceptional, professional, kind, and truly respectful. We felt valued from start to finish. I’ve already recommended the Hougoumont to friends and family and wouldn’t stay anywhere else when visiting Fremantle in the future. Highly, highly recommend!
We stayed at Hougoumont Hotel for two weeks in June 2025 and had a wonderful experience. The location is unbeatable — right in the heart of Fremantle — and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff were exceptionally warm and helpful. Special thanks to Maricar, Emma, and Ella at reception for their daily support and friendliness. Although reception isn’t 24/7, everything was well-managed and smooth. We loved the thoughtful touches like complimentary coffee, plenty of drinking water, and fragrant shower gel and shampoo. They also arranged a sofa bed for our kids and helped with airport transfers. Highly recommended for families or anyone visiting Fremantle!
Had a great stay here, location is ideal for Fremantle, late check-in was easy, staff were helpful and friendly, rooms were clean and comfortable. The price was very competitive so we were expecting a somewhat no frills experience but they've done a great job of not sacrificing on the things that matter.
