The room was spacious and pleasant. We were staying for consecutive nights and it was very good that water was replenished. The fact that there was a change of used towels was also very good for us. Staff were very friendly. The hotel had an unusual structure, which made it sometimes difficult to find, but this was not a problem. Breakfast was well stocked and there was plenty of space to relax. We were fully satisfied. Check-in was easy and check-out was also very easy.
I've stayed here a few times due to it's location and it being a modern new hotel. I booked it again for a concert at the weekend and I paid a premium for that night due to this concert. The hotel is modern, the service is normally good, the bar and food is nice and the coffee is good. During this stay we had a concern, there was no hot water for a shower. We rang reception to query it but it rang out. When we checked out, we asked at reception about this only to be told it was out of the control of the hotel and that the next time we stayed, if we mentioned it, we'd be looked after. There was no offer for a shower in another room or a later check out once the issue was resolved. After paying good money for just a hotel room, I thought the customer service could have been better. As I mentioned above, I've stayed here a few times. Initially, I would have done due diligence and checked reviews across various websites to get an understanding of the hotel. After reading a number of recent reviews, I can see I'm not the only person who has a grievance with the hotel's customer service. I've another booking later in year that I'll be reconsidering.
Pros: the location is great. You can stay there and walk almost anywhere in the city center. The off site parking is very expensive it seems typical for the area but it’s directly across the way. The hotel staff was mostly very nice. Cons: The location does not make up for the many faults of the hotel. 1) our room rate came with breakfast but when we went to go get said breakfast they charged us again. We had just gotten in and were exhausted so it didn’t make sense to argue the point but we were double charged. 2) we had a fire alarm test in our room at 1am. We called down the the front desk and they said everything was fine and then hung up on my husband when he tried to inquire what was going on. 3) the concrete location of the parking can be a bit tricky to pay for. The hotel has a “deal” with them. However, you can only pay in 24 hour blocks which is 30 euro. We had a day plus a few hours and they asked us to pay for 48 hours. We learned then next time we had to park that it was cheaper to pay the garage rate if it was less than 24 hours. 4) Room clean service. We put the notice on the door to not be disturbed as it was the first night and didn’t want to be woken up early. Despite the door tag being there, we got an early wake up knock at 8am. I checked to make sure the tag was still in the door and correct, it was. They apparently didn’t care. 5) Don’t let the hotel lie to you about how good the mattresses are. They are rock solid. If you’ve had about 6 pints, it may not matter but it was the opposite of luxury as they touted. I would not stay here again.
