Disappointing for a Five-Star Hotel We stayed for three nights in a suite at this hotel – at a rate of €1,000 per night – and were thoroughly disappointed. For this price and a hotel claiming to be five-star, the standard was completely unacceptable. On the positive side, the hotel is in a great location and offers convenient parking, including an underground garage. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. The suite was noticeably outdated, with tired furnishings and in urgent need of renovation. However, the biggest issue was the lack of cleanliness – both in the room and throughout the public areas. Dusty sofas and tables were placed in the hallways near the elevators, and the dust was present throughout the hotel. This is simply a no-go for a property in this category. Housekeeping was poor: beds were made and the bathroom was superficially wiped, but the room was never truly clean. Particularly unacceptable was the fact that, in a suite for three guests, we only had two cups, two glasses, and two balcony chairs. Even worse, dirty dishes – including used coffee cups from breakfast and empty glasses – were not cleared away during our entire four-day stay. We had to live with dirty dishes in our room for the whole time. That is completely unacceptable at this price point. Service overall was severely lacking. Staff presence was minimal. Occasionally, there was a doorman available to help with luggage, but otherwise we barely saw any hotel staff during our entire stay. For a five-star property, this lack of attention and hospitality is simply not acceptable. Our experience in the hotel restaurant further confirmed the overall impression. After waiting 15 minutes, we had to ask for menus ourselves. The starter arrived 20 minutes later, and the main course another 30 minutes after that – all while the restaurant was only about half full, with around 15 guests. Conclusion: All show, no substance. This hotel was absolutely not worth the €1,000 per night. The quality of the furnishings, cleanliness, service, and attention to detail are more in line with a three-star property. For a hotel that markets itself as five-star, the experience was extremely disappointing.
Beautiful Location, but service falls short of luxury expectations. The setting of this hotel is truly stunning. If you choose a sea view room, you're treated to a spectacular sunset each evening — a definite highlight. However, the overall service did not meet the standards I would expect from a luxury hotel. Unfortunately, my experience included the following disappointments: Cleanliness: I sat on a dirty chair on the terrace. It appears that cleaning and checking tables and chairs after use is not standard practice here which was quite off-putting. Wellness facilities: the sauna only opens at noon. I arrived 30 minutes early, unaware of this, and was surprised that no effort was made to accommodate me, even slightly earlier. The indoor pool is a bit outdated with no access to the outside terrace (only a fire door) Dining experience: the terrace bar stopped serving food at 18:30, but this isn’t mentioned anywhere on the menu. We were just in time to place our order for spaghetti aglio e olio with red pepper, only to find that both the garlic and pepper had been omitted. When I mentioned this while paying, the staff simply said, “Oh, let me tell the cook,” with no further acknowledgment. In hindsight, I should have returned the dish, but I didn’t want to wait any longer. Breakfast: the breakfast offering felt more like it was designed for the masses than for guests expecting a refined experience. Most items appeared to be factory-produced, with little attention to freshness, quality, or local flair. It was functional, but far from special While the location is undeniably beautiful, the lack of attention to detail and service quality left me disappointed. I hope improvements are made, as the potential is clearly there. I paid 470 euro for 1 night with my daughter here (including breakfast but excluding dinner & drinks that I paid separately)
Very nice Hotel with very low quality of service. Rooms are old but clean. The reception is very weak.. .. . The room service is very slow and we had to go back to the reception to pick up the mineral water after calling them 3 times and waiting 9 hours. And yet their only worry was that we had to pay extra… sorry to say but the management apparently has little idea of the “ hospitality”…it is a pity for such a big Hotel
