Hull Humber View Hotel BW Signature Collection

A typical businessman's hotel through the week with functions at the weekend. The evening food was ok. The breakfast was very good and plentiful. The rooms are very comfortable and well fitted. There is a nice big field at the rear with walks from it. The views of the river are nice with the bridge in the distance. I liked it.

The hotel is half decent. The heating was constantly on, when I entered the room I noticed all windows open, probably because you control the heating so to balance the temperature they left the windows open. The smell of outside is a mixture of milk and cow manure which is quite off putting. Of course leaving the window meant that you are welcomed by that smell indoors too. The service was good at the reception. Friendly staff and the process of checking in and out were straightforward. Expensive IMO for what you get in terms of quality of the hotel. But that's fine I didn't have any expectations. The most important thing I feel in hotels is the quality and cleanliness of the bathroom. This was good enough but not modern. Overall a decent stay and not far from the town and other areas in Hull.

Apparently this has just been stopped being used as a migrant hotel. The service was not up to scratch. I upgraded our room to an executive suite with the promise of "snuggly dressing robes and slippers" neither of which were present. We were challenged at breakfast as to whether we had paid for it, can't make complaint either cos there was never anyone at reception, even on check out, no one at reception so had to give the keys to staff covering the restaurant for breakfast. The hotel needs a good clean and a revamp, I certainly won't be booking here again
