We had a great stay at Hyatt Place Kyoto. I have to mention Imata at reception — he was amazing. Super professional, kind, and such a gentleman. He helped us check in and made us feel so welcome. We were traveling with our two-year-old, and they had already set up a crib in the room for us, which we really appreciated. The rooms are very, very spacious, especially compared to most hotels in Japan. Super clean and comfortable. We stayed in the annex building, which I personally loved — it’s much quieter and feels more private than the main building. There’s also a laundry room, microwave, and a fitness center, which are great to have. We didn’t use everything, but it’s nice to know it’s there if you need it. The location is perfect, just steps away from the subway and close to everything. All the staff were kind and helpful throughout our stay. I definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again for sure.
Everything about this hotel is perfect! The staff are super kind and accommodating. The location is also right on top of the subway (but not noisy!) making it super easy to get anywhere. There’s also several great bus routes that drop off at the hotel. The breakfast is excellent and facilities perfect. The room was perfectly clean and modern.
Not your typical US Hyatt Place. This hotel punches above its weight in all areas. New hotel with slight Japanese style decor, but you quickly realize this is not a typical watered down Hyatt place that you might be used to. Rooms are spacious for Japan, but if you are unlucky you can get a room facing a wall here like we did so not much of a view. Very centrally located with the subway line right under the hotel making going to anywhere in Kyoto a breeze. The hotel has a coin operated washing machine but each time I used it, it was hard to get clothes completely dry as it’s a single wash-dry unit. I realized later there was a coin operated laundry right opposite the hotel will proper driers available. Only downside I can think is that the breakfast isn’t included. Only Globalists get it complementary. We tried the breakfast once, while the spread is good, we didn’t find it worth the price they charge. A better place to have breakfast is the adjacent cafe for half the price and better choices. Room cleaning has multiple flavors of cleaning (be careful to put our appropriate signage by the time it’s mentioned otherwise your room won’t be cleaned) Exceeded expectations for the cost this hotels goes at.
