Hyatt Place London City East

This is a decent hotel for a short stop over. It’s modern and clean throughout and despite being in a central location the rooms offer a silent night’s sleep. On arrival there are some automated check in machines but the main reception is downstairs, along with the small breakfast / bar area. Staff are friendly and welcoming and both check in & out was completed quickly. While not the most spacious the room was laid out well with electric sockets between the twin beds with a good amount of storage, although I couldn’t get the air-conditioning to work. The bathroom was equally as clean as everywhere else and the walk-in shower was decent. Overall a good option for a short stay in the centre and I’ll be considering again when I need to be in this area of the city.

Hotel itself is quite nice, we enjoyed breakfast and staff were friendly. The rooms are similar level to budget hotel like Travelodge so that was disappointing given the 4 star hotel rating. A London premier inn would have been a more comfortable stay. Price perhaps reflects the rooms rather than 4 star rating.

The hotel was very modest and quite old, but the staff were polite and friendly. It looked more like a 2- to 3-star hotel. The room was very simple and basic but clean and well-equipped, with a fridge, iron, phone, and kettle. It was fine for a one-night stay as I arrived late in the evening to sleep and left in the morning. However, considering the price, I expected a higher category.
