This is the second time I’ve stayed at this hotel. Other than location, it’s perfect for what I am looking for. Rooms are good, food is decent (not great but decent) and the staff are excellent and friendly. Location is three stars because it’s a hike to get to any decent restaurants however that it’s perfect if you’re looking for a quiet stay in Macaé. It’s on the beach and because it’s away from everywhere, the beach is quiet at this location. But it’s Brazil and you want to see people on the beach in Brazil. The cost is is really good too.
I booked a sea-view room in this hotel for four consecutive nights. Unfortunately, when I checked in, I there was a staff member who wasn't too nice and seemed to be busy with something else. He gave me a room, which was not too clean and which was, not only due to the connecting door, not soundproof at all. Amongst other noise I had to listen to the frequent conversations of an austrian guy next door with his family at home. Since German is my native language I could understand almost every single word and you could have become ill just because of the child‘s never ending marrow and bone-piercing cough in Austria. Early in the morning after the first night, I explained the situation to reception and was kindly given a new room immediately. This room was clean and soundproof and I could spent some relaxed remaining days in this hotel. I liked the location not too close to the main beach in Macaé, which means there were not too many people at the beach right in front of the hotel. The breakfast options were ok in the hotel’s restaurant, but I generally don’t attach to much importance to it.
A bad experience at this hotel where I spent 3 weeks. The rooms are poorly soundproofed and have unrepaired wear and tear. The restaurant is to be avoided. The food is not good, and the wait is endless. The staff doesn't seem to be very concerned about the residents' stay going smoothly. Meal trays linger in the corridors for a long time...
