I attended a wedding reception here and was incredibly impressed. The hotel is beautiful and well-maintained, but what really stood out was the professionalism of the staff. Everyone was courteous and efficient, and the coordinator lady was exceptional—organized, calm, and clearly experienced. All the servers were very pleasant efficient and helpful.Everything ran smoothly, and as a guest, I felt truly taken care of. Highly recommend for weddings or any special event!
The room was clean and spacious, with a convenient desk, comfortable chairs, and well-placed outlets. I also appreciated the fitness center. However, I wasn’t a fan of the layout between the bathroom and bedroom, the partial wall doesn’t fully block light, and the bathroom door opens directly into the small changing area, making the space feel a bit awkward. I was also surprised and slightly disappointed that there was no swimming pool. Although I’m not a frequent swimmer and we didn’t double-check before booking, the upscale look and feel of the hotel made a pool seem like a given. The valet parking experience was unfortunately frustrating. While there was no additional charge, likely due to the construction, we didn’t have the option to self-park. After returning home, we noticed a dent on our car that we believe may have occurred during valet service. On the day of our departure, there was a long delay in retrieving our car. After waiting for quite some time, we realized the valet staff had taken our ticket but never retrieved the vehicle. We eventually found the key still sitting with many others. It would be more efficient and less error-prone if guests were asked to hold onto their ticket until the valet was ready to bring the car around. This oversight nearly made us late for an important appointment.
I was at this hotel for a little over 2 weeks along with several coworkers and we will be going back in September. The view is magnificent and the service outstanding, but the hotel is dated so doesn't exude luxury like some of the other 4 star Cambridge hotel. The Pros: The view of the river and cityscape is unapparelled! I slept with my blinds open every night to enjoy the lights of the city. The staff was very friendly and helpful, from the front desk, to the bartenders and housekeeping staff, I felt that everyone went out of their way to ensure we were having a good stay. The room was always cleaned and when I had stained the pillow with MY make-up the cases were changed that next morning. Any towels I left on the floor were also replaced that same day. Finally the food in the restaurant was good but the menu is limited menu, after 2+ weeks I was ready for something different. Many people have commented on the $20 per night destination fee, which I felt was clearly stated on the website. The fee includes 2 bottles of water a day, $10 menu credit in their restaurant plus the free use of the Hotel Shuttle that will take you almost anywhere in Cambridge and pick you up in the same location. Cons: The rooms are dated and in need of a refresh plus I had a room with a weird stall shower that my boyfriend could barely stand in (he's 6ft tall) but the rest of the team said their showers were normal, so must be certain rooms. Also the pillows are not hypoallergenic (with no options for people with allergies which I have come to expect from 4 star hotels) so I will be bringing my own next trip. The room service is NOT room services, it is a food delivery service just like you would get from door dash that comes in a bag with a paper thin napkin. That said, the food was good and very hot, they forgot something in my order one morning and the front desk applied a discount due to inconvenience. If you look at the pros and cons, I think this is a great hotel as long as you understand that rooms are dated.
