I recently stayed at the Hyatt Regency Chicago for a work conference, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish. The hotel has a great atmosphere, especially with so many professionals around, which really added to the vibe. My room was very fancy and comfortable, providing the perfect retreat after long conference days. One highlight was definitely the bar downstairs, a fantastic spot to unwind with great drinks and a lively yet relaxed ambiance. The hotel also had a pleasant, inviting scent throughout, which made the stay feel even more welcoming. On top of all that, the staff were friendly and attentive, making everything run smoothly. I would definitely recommend the Hyatt Regency Chicago for both business and leisure stays!
We started here for a birthday weekend and it was as good of an experience as we’ve ever had at a hotel. Super attentive and friendly staff, from housekeeping to the club lounge and the on-site restaurant staff. Great location. Great amenities. I definitely recommend getting the club level to have the lounge access and breakfast included. I almost didn’t opt for it but that made all the difference. Super high quality breakfast and lounge made for a nice break throughout the day with snacks and chill vibe.
I discovered the hard way that the Hyatt has started overbooking their hotel rooms. I arrive at 10:30 pm after a 5 hour flight to be told they had given away my room for the first of a 3 night stay. Sent me to another Hyatt across town for 1 night. Then I have to schlep back the next day for my other 2 nights. I picked the hotel as much for its location as for whatever else the Hyatt offers. So this was more than a minor inconvenience. I'm giving them 3 instead of 1 star because the manager (Nick? Niko?) at the front desk the next morning really went above and beyond, and did everything he could to make things right when I was finally able to check in to the correct hotel. What a lovely man. I hope you give him a raise. Your staff are excellent and TRULY understand customer service. The company for which they work? Not so much. No one paying several hundreds of dollars a night expects that a reservation made months in advance will not be honored in full. You'd never find the Holiday Inn using an algorithm to gamble on cancellations in pursuit of more profit. If you make people question why they are paying the higher price tag for the Hyatt, you may find them increasingly unwilling to pay it.
