We visited this hotel for our anniversary. The service was AMAZING. The view (bay view) was beautiful. There is a destination fee but includes TONS of useful discounts like free pay-per-view movies, discounted tickets, and meal credits for local restaurants. The location is ideal and makes most destinations in the downtown Long Beach area very walkable. There is something for just about everyone here.
I really enjoyed my experience here. The location is amazing—right on the water, within walking distance to the beach, Shoreline Village, the Pike, and the Aquarium. There’s a peaceful little lagoon that wraps around the hotel with swan boats you can rent, which adds a really fun and unique vibe. The area around the hotel is lively but not overwhelming—great for walking, grabbing food, or just relaxing by the water. It definitely feels like you’re in the heart of Long Beach. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the service was solid. Amenities like the pool, hot tub, and gym were a nice bonus. Only downside was the extra fees—parking and destination fees can add up.
Overall the hotel is fine and serves its purpose, but the quality of the accommodations and service do not reasonably rationalize the steep price of stay. My main takeaway: I would stay somewhere else that's cheaper and likely have a similar or better experience. The rooms do not have a mini-fridge, only a "cooler", which doesn't have much effect. We had to retrieve ice from the machine in the hallway and change it out twice a day to store our food. The wood in the room is particle board and we found multiple places where it was damaged or peeling. A couple times, we came back to the room after being gone all day to a bad odor in the room - and there are no fans or windows that can be opened so we just had to wait for it to dissipate. The staff were variably polite or helpful. House keeping were by far the most friendly and warm, but we found front desk to be colder and less helpful with questions. Beds and bedding are stiff (and I usually like a firm mattress) and low quality, respectively. I was quite disappointed that there wasn't even a Continental breakfast offered (again, see steep price). There is a buffet only offered on weekends for $28/adult. Pool and hot tub were fine. The location is the best part - you're walkable from the boardwalk, aquarium, restaurant, beach.
