Nice property. I am assuming if you’re staying here it’s because you need to be near McCormick Place, in which case the location is excellent. If you don’t need to be near McCormick Place (or I suppose Chinatown) I’d pick a different location. CTA stops a 15 minute walk away which isn’t ideal. Our room that was requested for a king bed away from the elevator was changed day-of to two full beds next to the elevator under the guise of a “status upgrade,” which was quite strange. Otherwise nice, clean, pretty.

It’s okay. Here for a conference. Will make sure I notify our admin team that booked our reservation of the experience. Corporate could have done better in making sure the stay was worth the price paid. We do conferences in Chicago every year. Hopefully next year we will stay at a different location. This is Hyatt and you’d think they’d have better quality! Not this location. The rooms are a bit outdated, the swimming pool is under renovation (why right before summer?), guest services aren’t friendly and our toilet ran all night unless you remembered to pull the handle up. The walls are thin because we could hear the room next door when they’d be on a call or even when they sneezed or blew their nose. The gym is quite small and it just felt like it was hard to breathe in there. I felt claustrophobic because all the equipment was so close together. We had the breakfast sandwiches at the little market and wow, it was really dry. It tasted like it was cooking all night. It was not at all worth the overpriced amount of 9.00. . The coffee was good but the food and service was not worth it.

We had a disappointing stay at the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place in Chicago. The overall experience did not meet expectations, especially for a hotel in this price range. The room we booked showed photos with a city view, but the actual view was of a parking lot and surrounding apartment buildings—completely different from what was advertised. This felt misleading and deceptive. While we knew the bottled water wasn’t complimentary, we were still charged for two bottles even though we only used one. At checkout, the receptionist didn’t confirm the charges or provide a clear summary—just said the receipt would be emailed later. It’s not about the money; it’s about the integrity of the service and transparency in billing. The room itself was outdated, the floor mattress looked dirty, and the coffee machine was unclean, especially the water reservoir. Even worse, we saw housekeeping place glass cups on the ground in the hallway during room cleaning—something other reviewers have also mentioned. This raised serious concerns about hygiene. The only positive was the early check-in option, which we appreciated. That’s the only reason we’re giving 2 stars instead of 1. Would not recommend unless major improvements are made in cleanliness, honesty, and guest service.
