Spent 4 nights at Blue Sky Residence and it’s probably one of the best value-for-money places I’ve stayed. The room was bright, spacious, and had a tiny kitchenette. Perfect for a longer stay. There’s a small gym and laundry room on the ground floor. I especially liked the “quiet hours” rule — made for a restful night. Staff was always smiling and ready to help. Highly recommend if you're traveling on a budget but still want comfort.
We have a room with a panoramic view on the 11th floor. Great room! It also includes Regency lounge access. So we ate breakfast there in the morning and some dinner canapes in the evening if we are there. People are nice all around. Service is wonderful. We enjoyed our Sydney stay very much. The hotel location is very convenient.
A few mornings ago at breakfast, I was seated by a staff member in the area furthest from the windows, along with all other East Asian guests. It was impossible not to notice that every person in this section shared the same racial background. In contrast, all the white guests were seated by the windows. It was striking—and frankly, unsettling—to see such a clear pattern: East Asian guests near the entrance, white guests in the front. The staff member who directed us to our seats was a brown-haired European woman. I felt deep disappointment and concern about the cultural awareness and mindset reflected in this seating practice. It is disheartening to witness such implicit profiling at a hotel of this reputation. I had expected more from both the city of Sydney—renowned for its cosmopolitan identity—and from a hotel of this caliber. While I was satisfied with other aspects of the hotel’s service, this particular experience stood in stark contrast. A hotel’s service is not limited to physical amenities; the emotional tone, dignity, and cultural sensitivity conveyed by its staff are equally important. I sincerely hope that this aspect of the guest experience is addressed, and that the hotel evolves into a place where all guests can enjoy their stay in a setting that is not only physically comfortable but also emotionally inclusive and respectful.
