This place was amazing! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I would stay here every time I went. The location is perfect and the beach is so relaxing. The restaurants were a little crowded so they had over an hour wait, but we went early after our second night and had no issues. The room was super clean and spacious. I did not think Puerto Vallarta was as beautiful as it was. There were a couple things that we recommended they address and they did the next day.
This is our 4th time staying here. We decided to celebrate our 20th anniversary here because it's our favorite vacation location. We live in the western U.S. so the flight is only 3 hours away. I lived in Mexico before so I love the culture of Puerto Vallarta. The beach is essentially private with the gated access only to guests. The food is very good with a great mix of authentic Mexican food and American food. We've never gotten sick like others experience at different resorts. Our only challenge is to not overeat because it tastes so good. The new Tamari Asian restaurant was great and the teppanyaki chef was excellent. The water was very clear and warm. We just vacationed in Hawaii and California and we enjoyed the ocean here more. The staff is amazing, including Kevin who helped us again this year with kayaks. We stayed in the club tower and enjoyed the upgrades there. It is a wonderful resort, close to Zona Romantica, Isla Cuale and the Downtown with the Plaza de Armas and Historical Catholic Church. I wish everyone could come and enjoy staying here. If you want to have a true vacation where you can relax and rejuvenate, I believe this is the best place in the world for that.
My wife and I payed $1800 to stay at the Hyatt Ziva for 4 nights in a Balcony room. The food is great, the location and beach are great, everything is very clean, very friendly staff, etc... The annoyance at first was only that I thought the resort provided snorkel stuff to snorkel off the beach, they don't. If you ask about snorkeling, they tell you to go on a tour. On the 3rd night, the AC stopped working at about 8pm. The next day we asked about it and they said they were working on it, and they gave us a fan for our room. The AC was out until we checked out, so 2 nights without. We were given incorrect information by many different employees about the AC coming on for the 2nd night but those were all untrue. Trying to pacify us but not actually doing anything to help us. We slept in a very warm humid room for 2 nights. If I spend the kind of money I spent on this resort, I expect the AC to be 100% reliable. With a good inspection and maintenance program, this is absolutely achievable. I definitely expected more of a Hyatt branded resort, I was disappointed and now understand that Hyatt is not a top tier resort company. I also wasn't offered any compensation. We emailed who we were told was the manager, Margarita Rodriguez, asking if she would like to do anything to compensate us for the AC going out, she never responded.
