Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall All Inclusive

This review is for families. My family of four (kids 7 & 12) just returned from Ziva. Bottom line up front, we had a great time and would highly recommend. Now, don’t get me wrong, this place is not perfect, but the negatives are more of an annoyance than show stoppers. Staff – We thought the staff were great. Almost 100% were delightful and really wanted to ensure we were well looked after. In fact, they provided a happy birthday welcome in one or our rooms and sung happy birthday at dinner. The other one percent I chalk up to a bad morning or afternoon. Hey, we have all been there. I say this because on one occasion I think a lady at the buffet must have been having a rough morning and it came across with her service at the start. But by the end of our meal, she warmed up. In fact, we had her the next day and she was all smiles for the very start. We noticed that sometimes the Jamaicans can speak with a bit of a rough tone but really don’t mean any ill will. Bench/pool – Remember, this review is for families and the beach is perfect for the us. It was never over crowded and it was basically 4 to 4 ½ feet deep the entire area in the cove. The kids felt safe and had a great time splashing around without having to worry about rough waves or riptides. The pool was very clean and 4 feet all around. It is true that folks claim their spot early. Even though the pool does open to 9, try to get up and to the pool area before 7 if having the ideal spot is important to you. We never had any issues with staff coming around asking if we needed anything. The only annoyance was the staff working the pool bar must have forgotten that they were not working the adults only side and was hyping the crowd hanging around the bar with some inappropriate sounds/chats at time. For example, one it was “this is my rifle – this is my gun” chat. For those of you that spent time in the military or have scene Full Metal Jacket would know this is not something kids should be hearing. Again, a bit of annoyance. Not a show stopper. All-in-all, we really enjoyed ourselves and highly recommend the place. Again. Great but not perfect. But what is…

My sons and I had a guys trip to Hyatt Ziva and had a wonderful time. The grounds are well kept and the location is convenient. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Food was hit or miss, Choicez was a disappointment but breakfast as Calypso and the Jerk Hut were so good!! The star of the entire week was the Tuesday night Street Fair, a Jamaica BBQ with several different grills, buffet and drink stations. The pools were beautiful, clean, and never felt crowded. The entertainment staff keep everyone entertained. Drinks are good and the pool staff keeps them coming. Beach is beautiful but on the smaller side with plenty of shade for lounging. Overall this is an excellent resort for families, beautiful design but some age is showing, but the staff, location, and vibes make this worth it!!

I had very high hopes as alot of great reviews and big hotel name means high quality. We spent 5 nights in the butler suite and while our butlers were nice ladies. They didn’t quite meet our expectations. We were traveling with small children and they were booking late dinners. Not much initiative was taken we had to tell them to do everything. This is not our first time using butler service so we had high expectations. Butler service just makes your vacation more relaxing. I expected better more personable service. Now the room, they need to do better they have beautiful limestone on the floors and quarts in the restrooms. Mold in the grout of the shower. They just throw caulk on top of mold. I had to shower in the dark. It’s too humid to not have ventilation in the restroom. Do better Hyatt! Other than that it was a very relaxing vacation. Our kids had a good time and while we traveled with young kids we also enjoyed ourselves.
