Hôtel Anne d'Anjou The Originals Collection

Taking a Smithsonian trip and we stopped 3 nights at this charming hotel in Saumur. The service is impeccable and welcoming. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with lovely bathrooms. The views out back of the chateau are wonderful in changing light. The breakfasts are colorful with delicious and healthy options and the hottest and flavorful coffee so far on the trip. There is a small heated pool at the back too and the water is gorgeous. Laundry was done so promptly. The bar has very pleasant local wines. It is well worth staying by the river and being able to walk into town easily.

I cannot recommend this hotel enough. From reservation until departure, the hotel staff have all been kind, proactive and helpful without exception. The quality of service was consistently high, the rooms were very pleasant, and the hotel is even more beautiful in real life than the pictures online suggest. I could go on to list all the small little details that surprised us positively, but I would encourage you to try for yourself! The only suggestion I have for the hotel: it would be nice if you had your piano tuned in the salon!

Lovely hotel located directly on the river and within walking distance of the town. Our room in the annexe was spacious. Breakfast is worth paying for and staff are helpful. Free of charge parking is usually available directly in front of the hotel, but there is a small private car park in the central courtyard if needed.
