Very beautiful place. I would suggest it for a relaxing stay in Normandy.
Lovely hotel great location & v nice food Dining room chef if excellent & most helpful Top class lad that ensured we got dinner every night despite the unwillingness of his waitress. Some of the service is v poor especially one. No need to say as I'm sure everyone knows. The lifeguard at pool is unhelpful and all his rules and regulations don't make for an enjoyable experience The pool is top class with saltwater pumped up from shore. Really nice pool. They need to lighten up and let customers enjoy this wonderful hotel Hotel & location is excellent but some staff members are holding it back Need to get lessons in customer service.
Stars give for location, free parking and the pool. But this is far from a 4 star hotel as claimed. Broken fixtures in room, very small 'family room', paper cups, no amenities in room, no air conditioning, luckily facing the sea so we could open the door all night for fresh air even in November it was stuffy. I wouldn't be happy to stay in summer. Restaurant was 'full' at 8pm on our arrival, despite seeing many empty tables after a long journey with 2 kids. To be greeted rude restaurant staff and told we can either pay €10 per person for room service on top of outrageous menu prices or to 'try another restaurant in town' was not a great start! When we said, we have just arrived and checked in, how can we feed our kids? No help. When we discovered the room does not have any ar fridge (4 stars??) We then has to eat all of our perishable snacks we had anyway, so it was cheese, beer and yoghurt for dinner on our bed, plus a €10 kids meal of ham and mashed potato (plus €10 for room service)! The room had a broken toilet roll holder, logged sin, very basic toiletries, 2 paper cups, some instant coffee and a kettle. The 'family room' at a cost of €650 for 3 nights was tiny. The kids single beds were basically in a hallway space, no window or air flow at all. Ok for winter but would be horrible in summer. Very small shower only bathroom, and separate toilet with automatic light that lights up the whole room when the door is opened, urgh. Luckily there was good storage once we had unpacked, but barely room for a suitcase to be opened on the floor. The pool and spa area was nice, but acces was denied during g 'lessons' twice a day and could only be accessed with a headcap on (€5 if you didn't have one), no boardshorts allowed, so husband couldn't use the pool, kids ok without a cap otherwise we would have been fuming. After the experience with the restaurant and expense of the room, another €10 for caps for the adult to take a quick dip wasn't worth it. Couldn't secure a booking at the spa, after enquiring at the desk, no treatment treatment menu, had to be emailed, after responding to request a booking for the following day, no response. Overall, very disappointed with out stay, almost left on the first night, but it was my 40th birthday the next day and had a haircut booked otherwise we would have moved on to somewhere else. The redeeming features were the location, beachfront, lovely walk in the afternoon, the town was well appointed and easily accessed and free parking, hence the 3 stars. Granville was a good central location location exploring a normandy area. The pharmacy nearby were very helpful and friendly. We ended up using Uber eats for our dinners as was much more affordable than the restaurant and we honestly didn't want to spend our money there anyway plus we could get cold beer delivered tonour for for €2 instead of €10pp. Tried Poke sushi (yum) and Buffalo Grill chicken wings (delish)!
