I've been here twice now and I must say there's been some improvements with the internet compared to 2017. The rooms are always clean and the staffs are nice, ready to help. They have a neat kitchen and lots of bread for breakfast. You can also change your $ to the local currency or pay your bill with Master card or Visa.
Had a 12-day stay at the Hotel Iman recently. I want to start by saying the picture of the hotel with the pool shows the original hotel building, which still stands. The restaurant is on the bottom floor and the pool and a hot tub are still functioning. A newer building across from this building is where the main office and newer rooms are and is where I stayed, I had a suite on the 5th floor and found it very nice. However, like most of the reviews - the mattresses are TERRIBLE, it felt like I was sleeping on the ground. I confirmed with my companions, their rooms had the same TERRIBLE mattresses. If the mattresses were replaced, this could easily be a four or five star review. The staff are great and most speak enough English if a visitor doesn't speak French. There are a number of security personnel and there is a security checkpoint where all guest have their luggage screened. Single elevator and lights on each floor are activated by a motion sensor. I saw a wifi router on each floor. During the majority of my stay, I had no difficulty having a wifi connection. When I did, I simply turned my device's wifi off and back on, connected, and had no further issues. For my stay, breakfast was included. Coffee, juices, bread, eggs, fruit and a variety of sausages, chicken, steak. I did visit the restaurant for dinner and found the menu offered a variety of food options. The ONLY down side I found at the restaurant, was the staff and some patrons would leave the restaurant doors open, so on two occasions the flies were so bad, I asked for my meal to be wrapped and I took it back to my room. There is a small store on the corner from the hotel. No prices so after one visit where I thought I might have paid too much, I started having a local friend go and purchase what I needed. Discovered he paid much less than I would have. No other restaurants or stores nearby worth visiting that we saw. I did discover laundry was free, but the service isn't advertised. This might be because it's only for guest staying for a minimum number of days. Check out was very easy. Since this was a business trip, I asked for my accounting to be separated; one accounting showing just room and the other any incidental expenses and the staff were very accommodating. Travel advisors say due to credit card fraud, visitors are encouraged to pay only in cash. I did but a traveling companion used their VISA card and to date have reported no issues. The hotel offers an airport shuttle. Can't say how reliable it is, we had a private driver. We were also told it is illegal to take local currency out of the country. Overall, the stay was enjoyable and we would stay at this hotel again.
Nice and quiet place. But : - The breakfast could be better. - The shuttle driver is a very bad driver chatting with colleague or sleeping if he is alone, especially when it is for dropping you to airport for flight early in the morning.
