Hôtel Mercure Abbeville Centre Porte de La Baie de Somme

Excellent few days in this wonderful hotel. The room was large enough and the staff attention was superb. A very pleasant bar and for most evenings my wife and I ate in the restaurant with a good menu including dishes of the day. We shall be back.

As we had hoped for; professional staff, good location, food in the restaurant at dinner and breakfast were good. Easy and free street parking 5 mins walk from hotel.

I am extremely dissatisfied with this hotel. They did not disclose that there was a very large event going on the day of our arrival that blocked all roads to the hotel and that there was a loud music festival happening just outside the hotel until midnight or later. When we tried to get near the hotel to check in we couldn't due to the blocked roads. When we called to ask for help they told us to park and walk thru the crowds of the music festival with our luggage in tow. There was no parking anywhere near the hotel due to the crowds from the music festival. The music was also scheduled to go on late into the night - midnight or later. We just wanted to get to bed ealry as we were on a roadtrip and needed to be up early. We asked for a refund since we couldn't access the hotel or go to bed early and because they did not tell us about this huge music festival going on just outside if the hotel. They refused. Extremely dissatisfied with their lack of customer service and the lack of information that this event would effect our stay. Would absolutely never stay at another Hotel Mercure ever again! Would not recommend to anyone. I had to call my credit card company and dispute the charge so that we could go stay somewhere quiet that could be accessed by roads.
