The staff here are fantastic and the location is very convenient for long journeys through France. Thank you. I am adjusting my review to 5 stars as they have been so kind. I also have lots of happy memories here so I wanted to say thank you.
We stayed here for 2 nights in June 2024 while on a cycling trip. Our room was spacious with a beautiful terrace overlooking the river. Great bathroom and shower. A wide selection of options at breakfast with good coffee. The temperature control in the room was excellent, the bed was very comfortable and the shutters made the room very dark and quiet at night so we got a great sleep. The only downsides were the abysmal internet and the dreadful dinner at the hotel restaurant so I've taken a star off the service rating.
We booked a room with a bath and balcony with a river view for two nights. Whilst the room was of a very decent size there were many issues that would mean we would never book again The room we were provided was the last on the block and had no river view due to trees which were overgrown The bath did not have a plug, so was not able to used. And the curtains around the bath for use when showering were filthy with black mould. We reported both of these issues to reception directly but neither was corrected within our two day stay. The ranch slider door on to the balcony latch was broken and not able to be locked. This was a safety problem The bedside table drawer was full of pieces of a picture which had fallen off the wall. Sharp pieces were again a very serious safety concern. And for a Mercure Hotel to provide just one tea bag each day was just so cheap, as were the little paper cups. Why would it not be done to have a selection of tea bags and ‘real’ cups as other mid-range hotels do. And the maintenance of the gardens - clearly no gardener was on the payroll. A really bad look. So in summary our opinion of this hotel was very poor and I would not recommend
