A massive welcome by Roberto on entering the courtyard, even before we had checked in. We were lucky enough to be given an upgrade. Lovely room and great facilities. Such a peaceful hotel. Most of the staff were excellent, but just one member letting the team down slightly with delays in service or forgetting orders. The hotel obviously needs some TLC but it is full of character and has a great history. We would love to return at some point.

A very good location and looks beautiful when you arrive. Staff friendly enough but the reason for four stars is that it lacked direction. There were odd things like laundry baskets in the corridors, childrens high hairs on a patio for jo reason and the decoration lacked coherence. Bizarre carpeting that changes from one area to another without style. But everyone has different taste. The rooms clean and well appointed. We booked and I asked for a table at the gourmet restaurant but on arrival discovered it was closed. I didn’t like the look of the patio outside - plastic grass and lacking charm. So we went out to dinner to a restaurant five minutes away - thats where the ocation is good because you can walk anywhere.

Pleasant older hotel, lovely grounds and outside garden bar and swimming pool. Spotless room, but no air conditioning. Quiet. Staff brilliant, very kindly arranged a light dinner for us on Sunday evening when we arrived even though neither restaurant was actually open (why?) as virtually every restaurant in Laval is closed on Sundays. Laval itself nearly everything closed (shops, museums, chateau, restaurants) on Mondays.
