Hôtel Restaurant Chateau de Lalande

The chateau is beautifully maintained, the rooms are clean, comfortable, fantastic views and with AC! The garden, swimming pool and dining areas indoor and outside are perfect. Ideal for relaxing, enjoying dinner, a glass of wine and a smoke. The location is stunning, surrounded by a few must see villages, vineyards and good cycling routes. What truly makes this place special is the incredible staff, the level of service and the lovely host Katrina and her husband. Katrina is warm, funny and they make you feel very welcome, relaxed and exceptionally helpful ( we had a car breakdown issue which they helped a lot). What I loved most was how relaxed and homely everything felt. I’d head out for a bike ride at 7:30am, well before breakfast and they’d happily offer coffee and croissants. Even after breakfast hours, they’d let us sit in the courtyard with everything still laid out. Nothing felt rushed. It’s calm, friendly and more like staying with friends than in a hotel. The food deserves special mention. They served the best meal we had in the region. The duck confit with polenta was easily a 9.5/10. In these more rural areas, it can be hit or miss finding genuinely great food, but here it is exceptional. A real gem.

A lovely hotel with very friendly and welcoming owner and staff. Delicious and innovative food for our two dinners. Bed and room very comfortable. Well located hotel for visiting local attractions, absolute calm and relaxing environment.
