An elegant and peaceful retreat on the sea Just wow! My second time visiting, the hotel is more elegant and lovely than ever with fully renovated, impeccable rooms and the addition of the Shore Club offering another oceanside escape on the island. The meals in the restaurant and club are exquisitely prepared, most certainly fit for foodies. And, I must mention, the breakfast is so enticing that it practically beckons you out of bed in the morning.

I can't say something to the rooms, because we stayed on a yacht and arrived rather spontaneously on Cavallo. The restaurant's location is one of the most beautiful I've ever seen. At a place like this with a price tag like this, I would have expected a good, when not outstanding service, where the staff tries to make your stay as great as possible. We got mediocre service at the bar and when we asked for a table in the restaurant, it was refused. It was still nice to sit at the seaside, having a good cocktail, but the service quality could be improved.

I did not stay in the hotel but I ate at their restaurant, “The Shore Club”. It was unfortunately a very disappointing meal. Apart from one helpful lady (believe she was front of the house) the service was not great. Some of the meals were inedible - we are not fussy eaters, but some of us were struggling to eat the goats cheese salad dressing as if tasted like it had gone off. My salad still had grit in it and had not been washed properly. All of this would’ve been disappointing at the best of times, but the fact that this place is charging prices such as €40 for a club sandwich made it so much worse. I would discourage anyone from going to eat at this place. They clearly capitalise off the fact that the island is stunning and exclusive, but it is not worth it by any stretch. It was a total rip-off, save your money and go somewhere else for a meal that is actually edible.
