Hôtel Spa Marotte

We are seniors and had room 37 (second floor American) for 4 nights in mid July in the adjacent building (which also houses the spa). Recommended by our host, it was the perfect room for us. Spacious, always quiet, comfortable chairs for a sitting area in the bedroom and another comfy chair in the spacious sunny bathroom. Two great french windows in the bedroom and a matching one in the bath make for lots of great natural light and fresh air. The bath has a massive sparkling modern tub and a separate walk-in shower (good water pressure in the rain shower btw). A wall behind the head of the bed separates the dressing area and bathroom from the bed and TV area for lots privacy. Other reviewers note the cleanliness of the hotel. We can confirm that. Spotless. A pleasant view from all windows over the courtyard of the restaurant area below. The restaurant was only open for breakfast during our stay so the courtyard was always quiet. We even had a light picnic at one of the tables one evening. Very convenient. Good air conditioning. Modern roomy, elevator. Easy walk from the SNCF gare and the cathedral and all things in central Amiens. We highly recommend Hotel Marotte! My wife was very pleased that my trip planning included this memorable hotel.

The most horrendous and shocking service ever received from a supposed 4-star hotel! Besides the fact that the receptionist refused to facilitate our check-in, after a couple of calls trying to find a solution to accommodate an arrival past the check-in time (apparently hotel guests are stranded after 9PM!), phone calls started being hung up. To add insult to the injury, hotel staff refuses to issue an invoice for a service that we couldn’t benefit of. Outrageous experience, staff with this attitude does not belong in hospitality. The audacity for not providing a basic service they signed up as a business provider coupled with the hostile attitude knows no limits at this establishment !

The rooms are beautiful BUT the spa is facing serious hygiene issues. The entire hamman is covered in black mold which is, according to owners and the staff, absolutely normal between the morning and the evening cleaning routine… my wife and I have personally never experienced such a dirty spa, it’s a shame. For such price point, it is very disappointing.
