On our east coast adventure we enjoyed Hotel Universal Hotel allot. Had everything any well run hotel should have. Ample parking, Lovely clean rooms, swimming and hot tub area..etc. Plus I enjoyed a running paved track on the block behind the hotel as well a convenient store/garage across the road with a handy self car wash.. Close to Timmys. Many little things that just made the stay very pleasant. Naturally everything is never perfect. We noticed that the front desk was very cold, just give me your credit card and here is your room key. but after that all was nice.
Had quite the memorable experience, and really enjoyed my time there. Staff were very pleasant and helpful even though my French sucks. No shortage at all of parking at the time I went. Was in a great location as well. The hotel was unlike any other I’ve ever been to. It’s like the architects have never designed a hotel before, but that’s not totally a bad thing. Most hotels are bland, unmemorable, uninteresting, and designed by someone mentally stable. This place does not fit that description at all. The whole hotel was an ultra modern convoluted labyrinth with a very nice indoor pool. The wing that I was in had big posters for some reason advertising the marvellous other buildings that the architects have designed. The room was very stylish, comfortable, and spotless. The restaurant and bar were very cool too. Had a really nice spa that I unfortunately didn’t get to try. The place almost felt like more of a resort than a hotel. The only thing I’ll knock it for was the lacklustre fitness centre. But it did have a very cool free arcade. I’m sure that if I was completely mad, had a mountain of coke in front of me, and had millions of dollars at my disposal, I’d build a hotel just like this in Nova Scotia. But since, I’m missing 2 of those 3 qualities, I’ll have to make another trip out there sometime
Pet friendly hotel. Had the presidents suite. Old and run down room for the price we paid. Very firm bed (which we like). Great shower. Small rooms. You can tell this place is used to turntable customers (rest stop in transit)
