I Bastioni San Domenico Boutique Hotel

The Bastioni was an excellent choice to stay in Old Town Gallipoli with stunning views on the water. The staff were the most welcoming we’ve encountered, in spite of our lack of facility with the Italian language. From the moment we arrived in the middle of Italys Labor Day festivities we felt right at home. Those that helped us check in and guided us to their remote parking facility did so with aplomb with this our first driving experience in Italy. Thank you! The hotel was gorgeous with interesting nooks and cranny’s for reading and relaxing with a roof top bar established in the fifteen hundreds and the best sea and sunset views imaginable. The beach just steps away was perfect. The highlight of our stay was the breakfast each day, without a doubt the best food we’ve found in our travels and absolutely the most considerate and appreciative staff. Thanks again! Luxurious hotel, especially in the common locations, very nice internal design. The breakfast is great, and the sea view in the rooftop balcony is amazing! Very nice and polite staff working there. Thank you very much to Verdiana (in the reception, she gave us excellent local recommendations for beach lido and restaurants), Mino (maintenance, he saved us when the safe didn't open, he really knows his job, amazing skills), and the staff in the breakfast.

The hotel was nice, room was fine, AC was good, location was great but I have three issues. 1. The wifi in my room was awful and there was no cell service either. I spoke with the lady at the front desk three times - she came into my room to reset the router - that did not solve the problem - I had full bars - so it was an Internet issue and she didn’t seem surprised I was having issues. I assume this is an ongoing issue. If WiFi on vacation is not an issue - the hotel Is fine 2. They offer parking - which is great but it’s a 15 min walk from the hotel. They drive you when you check in and check out to the garage - but not while you are staying there. It’s nott an awful walk - it’s on the other side of the bridge- but it’s not ideal 3. They have an awesome roof and they use it for breakfast- if it isn’t windy. It’s odd they don’t use it for anything else. Why not have a bar up there for sunset? Seems like a total miss
