Five star dining (!!!). Five star service. And the ambiance of a romantic getaway tucked in an estate setting near Lake Trasimeno. The location is perfect. You know you’re in Italy, but you feel as if you’ve been transported back in time when Merion’s lover built this villa to show his love for her. Everything is detailed perfectly. The spa is beautiful. The pool is breathtaking. The rooms are quaint, yet spacious. And our little chihuahua was warmly welcomed, too. Sit by the fireplace or dine in the accompanying restaurant. And wow. The food! Why this restaurant doesn’t have a Michelin star is very surprising to me. The food is exquisite and beautiful. Finally, the service. Everyone is friendly. Everyone smiles and welcomes you to relaxation and tranquility. Special accolades to Katarina, the front desk person who explained the property beautifully. And to Nicola who took care of the fire, the cocktails, and the explanation of the food. Both are excellent (as is his twin brother). Of course, one must mention the chefs. The food is an experience. Enjoy the serenity. Whet your appetite. And fall in love with this gem in Italy’s Umbria region.

Really liked the Stay. Lovely Location and not to mention the Views. Sadly our Suite was a bit dark for my liking. But all in all it was really nice.

Hosts were less than welcoming. The restaurant announced that the chef was not available, so items on the menu were also not. Would have loved to have known this at check in so we could have chosen options for other places to eat. Service was slow, and one plate was very different from the next of the same item. Private spa would have been amazing but the jacuzzi was the same temp as the pool, room temp to cool, and the fireplace and shower wouldn't turn on. No one at the desk the entire time to ask for help and the courtesy phone didn't work inside the spa. Grounds and rooms are beautiful but not sure we would stay here again. To respond to their comments... We tried to let the front desk know about the issues multiple times, even rang the bell. No one came. The lady who ran the breakfast this morning was wonderful and the breakfast was nice too. My partner was the one to do the check out so I could take care of the kiddo but at that point, there wasn't anything to be fixed.
