It's a beautiful resort, only issue is its quite remote and travelling is a bit tough also shops are hard to find. Rooms are spacious and clean. Not all staff speak English but they go above and beyond for you this is all staff including the cleaners they helped us with our washing which was great because we struggled using the washing machines. They have entertainment for kids ( all in Italian) but over all we really enjoyed the resort pool is huge and amazing on them extremely hot days. We will definitely be back.
A pretty good hotel with a big pool and big rooms. The staff works hard and made accommodations for us. We had some difficulty with the stove top, but the kitchen was basically fine. We had ants in our apartment, which was quite annoying. The market was convenient for buying food. You only get 2 sunbeds at the beach for each apartment. Very satisfactory, all in all.
I have mixed feelings when i think about our 2 week stay at the Villaggio dei Turchesi. Definitely the friendly staff made up for some of the infrastructure shortcomings. The highlight of my stay was the warm, welcoming people - from the attentive servers at the on-site restaurant or friendly host at the lido! Their friendliness and attention to detail made up a lot of the bad experiences. The aging infrastructure definitely is in need of renovations. Specifically the bathroom in the small villa was very disappointing, primarily worn down and dirty that you'd expect of a 2-star motel, not a 4-star resort. We heard other guests were luckier with big walk-in showers in their units and not just an old small 90x90 cabin and very worn interior. Some of the people we have met came already for years, therefore they specifically have chosen the village they want again and they knew which ones were in a better condition. The pool area was also showing signs of wear with chipped paint, therefore when there had been a lot of people in the water it was often very dirty. On cleaning part, the cleaning crew missed the mark on properly sanitizing our villa. it seemed it wasn't properly cleaned, dirty kitchen, furniture full of dust, mold in bathroom, etc. On a positive side note, we reported it the staff immediately took care of it but still we had to check on a daily basis. I must add that we also paid for the daily cleaning service. Families with small children should be aware there were no water slides or games at the pool. The village itself has playgrounds for small kids but not at the pool itself. The lido is very nice and very friendly people. The bar at the lido is well equipped for doing an aperitivo, or having a great breakfast as the sweets are very good. The owner is also very nice and such as the bagnina. There is also a tabaccaio next to the lido, right where the daily shuttle leaves you. It is well equipped and has also games for the kids in order to play at the beach. They organized also events at the village, every week. The would have been great if the dinner itself (open buffet) would have been not such disorganization. I understood why people started straight with the main meal at the buffet as there had been huge lines, people with small kids waiting more than 30 min for their turn, and then there had been not enough food for some of the choices. Apparently this was nothing new as per the feedback from other guests and this happened also the years before. Therefore we learned when going there for the first event and then on the second event we basically skipped the food and ate in our apartment which paid off. The sea itself was ok but not super nice. All in all the stay was ok but wouldn't return to this village unless the village would be modernized. As well i wouldn't recommend it to families with small kids and rather bigger ones, as the parents would enjoy more. To the manager's credit, they were receptive to my concerns and provided a reimbursement for the issues experienced after i have engaged with them after my stay.
