We stayed at Iberostar Dominicana with our family more than once and it’s always excellent! Food, staff, and service are great. Special thanks to Cleiver for his attentive care. Highly recommend!

I purchased a day pass (~90 USD) for a Saturday in April. The day pass included access to most of the resort amenities (unlimited food and drinks, the beach, pools, fitness center, showers) and you could pay extra to access the spa. I was able to use the day pass from 10am - 6pm. I only paid for a regular access pass and found that the beach and buffet seating areas got very busy during peak times. They did have empty seating areas but these were for guest who paid for the premium membership. The buffet was average. It wasn’t very dietary restriction friendly. I am not sure if I was just unlucky, but I did find a hair in my food and then the next piece of fruit I picked up also had a bug on it. I found the spa to be quite small (it was basically one room with 6 small jacuzzi tubs, sauna, and a hammam). Most staff around the resort didn’t speak much English. However the staff at the reception spoke English fairly well! Great time to practice Spanish though. I felt safe on my own and found getting around the resort to be quite easy. I found the quality of the resort to be good overall when compared to the cost of day passes for other nearby resorts.

Do NOT Fall for the Iberostar Club Membership It’s Exploitative and Deceptive First and foremost: don’t agree to a “club membership” meeting. It’s as close to a scam as you can legally get. We were pressured into signing up during a stay and $11,000 later, we’re still paying for nothing of value. On a recent trip with my 6-year-old son, I accidentally booked the wrong Iberostar location (Puerto Plata instead of Punta Cana). That was my mistake... I own it. But I figured, as a paid "Club Member," there would be at least some flexibility or support in transferring my reservation. Instead, I was met with stonewalling, hours on hold, unreturned calls, and complete indifference...even from the supposed “Prestige Club Lounge” staff. Exhausted and desperate, I had to pay out of pocket for a $400/night room at the correct location not even at the “member rate.” No club perks. No wristband. Nothing. After two days of trying to get help and breaking down in tears over the phone, I was finally offered a partial refund but still penalized two nights ($800) for a simple reservation correction. This company doesn't care about customer service, loyalty, or basic decency. Their business model is built around squeezing money from people and delivering as little as possible in return. They hide behind fine print and disorganized bureaucracy. Avoid the membership at all costs. Learn from our $11,000 mistake.
