ibis Colmar Est

Good value for price. Nice location with parking. Rooms are good size, as is the bathroom with large shower, not some little elbow-bashing closet. Enough shelves and hanging space if you manage your things well, 1 extra pillow and fleece blanket. No power sockets at bedside. Towels good but only one drying bar. Good value food: Breakfast is good continental selection, excellent tea bar, good machine coffee — better than other ibis I have stayed at, no tinned vegetables, 70% is fresh food, bread and pastries good. However breakfast is chaotic; only seems to be one person working at any time so the tables and chairs are very messy and lots of crumbs. Ate here once for dinner but there was no lead chef so we could only have taste flambé (sort of like a very thin pizza) which was good and very well loaded. Glass of local bubbly just €5 Hospitality very good: requested ice each morning and was served promptly and not charged. Staff are lovely and friendly, they try to speak English and didn’t correct or mock my bad French. Sweets and drinking water always available at reception. Easy check in and out though had to remind my pay rate was low as I had spent 6,000 Accor points so they could manually allocate the discount (not automatic.) No extra features but for this price, who cares? It was very good overall and I recommend this venue.

Good hotel at a convenient location. It has a big parking place with free parking. Rooms are a bit small but good enough for a short stay. The restaurant has decent food. Little Venice in Colmar 10 minutes drive from the location

The hygiene of the hotel/room is a total catastrophe. There were other people hairs and stains (or it was dirty?!) in the bathtub and on the towels. The room generally seemed dirty. There also were white stains on the side of the bed… We approached the reception and got offered to shower in a another room, but the bath there was - suprise - even more dirtier than our original one. It was incredibly dissapointing.
