There was construction work right next to hotel, it is very noisy during the day. Reception is very basic, no drinks or anything been available or offered during check in. Location is quite near to the see front, room was very basic compared to the price. We were given room on the ground floor outside main building, anyone have access to that area, as well as public can park there, no control system with the access card, so security is an issue.

It’s ok for budget. There is no pool. CONS: The room decor is dated. Very 90s and I hated the pink ceilings and patterns on wallpaper. There were no complementary bottles of drinking water and no biscuits. The pillows were very thick and unsuitable for side sleepers. I was unable to use them as they gave me neck pain. There is no in-house restaurant and the bar appears to be permanently closed. The continental breakfast was rubbish. The coffee was horrid and self serve through a machine. There were barely any pastries, and those that were were tiny. There was a poor vegetarian selection, but plenty of cold cut meats! The fresh fruit wasn’t the nicest either. The rooms and dining area were freezing cold because the air conditioning had been left on really high. Bathroom sinks and taps don’t work well. Shower was fine, but bath is very difficult to get in/out from. High step, which is not suitable if you are unable to lift your legs to hip level. PROS: Exterior is welcoming. Downstairs is modern decore. There is complementary (limited) hotel parking on site, which is good. You need to register your plate at reception. Staff are friendly. There rooms have hairdryers, towels, complimentary body wash and conditioner. The bed was very comfortable.

I booked a superior room with a sofa and ended up in a dark basement grotto with frosted no-view windows and another bed instead of the sofa. After complaining, the receptionist just shrugged it off saying they were completely booked. The hotel was empty though. As a platinum member of Accor hotels I’d have expected more. I asked for a complimentary breakfast to make up for this really bad room but it was denied. In the end I was lucky, as I checked the breakfast the day after and it wasn’t worth paying for anyway. Go into town for a nice fry up! On the positive side, my complimentary drink as Accor status card holder was a very generous class of red wine. The swimming pool has been closed for a while. The handicapped chair lift was out of service. However, the hotel is conveniently situated in a quiet part of town, the bed was comfortable and the room quiet. Overall, I just felt I was led down as I would have expected a more professional handling of my visit.
