ibis Styles Mt Isa Verona Hotel

Good location. Very spacious and clean room. Due to delayed travel plans, I arrived at the hotel late in the evening. The manager, Alex, had kindly waited for my arrival and completed the check-in process quickly. He also checked to ensure that my car was parked in a secure location, which was greatly appreciated.

I had a comfortable four-night stay and the Ibis Styles Mount Isa which is well-located and close to everything The bed was very comfortable with nice linen and the room was clean. The bathroom was well maintained and clean although the water pressure was just OK. The room had all the necessaries, hangers, a mini fridge, drawers etc. except that the bedside tables were old and there were no bedside lamps. While the curtains were old and tired looking, they were functional in that they kept the light out. The carpet was OK. The air-conditioner didn't work. From the outside, the building looks somewhat neglected with fading signage. Reception was nice and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant was also nice. I didn't have dinner there but I had breakfast the first morning of my stay, which was quite disappointing. The barista coffee was ok and the juice was nice. There was a decent choice of cereal, fresh fruit and bakery-bought pastries. I was offered eggs only and make your own toast, no accompaniments were offered or available - no bacon, tomato, hash browns, beans or sausage etc. There was a good selection of breads, but the brioche was very stale. Overall, I found the $22 breakfast not worth the money so ate breakfast at Xtra Mile cafe down the road which was quite nice. I think I'll try the Bourke and Wills motel next time I'm in Mount Isa.

Good location, room was modern and clean, bed was comfortable. Price was crazy $287.00 for an Ibis motel is not good. I asked if the price was correct and wow did the manager get aggressive and rude. I would not stay there again.
