This is one of the best hotels we ever been in Greece. The design of the hotel, all the staff is very nice, helpful and kind. The rooms are very well isolated, the hotel itself is very quiet and you can relax. All the rooms and the hotel is very clean and well maintained. The food was excellent, very good quality and variety. On the beach the staff needs to be more organized and more friendly. At the reception they were extremely kind and always very helpful with our needs. I truly recommend this hotel if you are searching for a quiet place, very good food and service.
Absolutely exceptional. We've stayed in other 5* hotels in various countries but this was simply the best overall stay we've had. The staff was super nice, from the front desk, through the cleaning staff, through the waiters, to the bartender and SPA lady - everyone was very friendly and helpful. The room we got was amazing and better than we expected, even though it might've felt small at first glance it certainly had all we needed and more - the private pool was such a nice touch. The restaurant deserves a separate mention - we've never had as tasty food in a hotel buffet, to the point eating out for both breakfast and dinner seemed like such a waste. The cuisine was varied, produce were fresh, everything was well seasoned and incredibly tasty. Bravo to everyone involved in making Ikones the place it is. We already miss it and hope to return someday!
Room cleaning was super friendly and deserves 5 stars. The hotel design is modern and appealing – but that’s where the positives end. Loud beach music made it hard to relax, and the evening entertainment was so loud you could hear it clearly from the rooms. The road in front is very busy and adds to the noise. Service was disappointing throughout: We often had to wait for drinks both in the morning and in the evening. Sometimes, we had already been to the buffet twice before the drinks arrived. One morning, I didn’t get my coffee until 30 minutes later – by then, I had already finished my breakfast. Juices weren’t refilled unless asked, and staff often seemed annoyed. At the beach, service was chaotic – one day we were overcharged €6 despite giving our room number, and had to remind them the next day to fix it. Which we didn’t because it was our last day. Between 7–8 PM we had recurring water outages – no running water in the shower or sink for 10–15 minutes at a time. Completely unacceptable for a 5-star hotel. The food was poor: overcooked pasta, salty potatoes, barely any variety. If you can’t serve proper decaf, don’t offer it. We stopped complaining because it honestly got worse every day. We’ve stayed in several 5-star hotels on Greek islands, and sadly this was by far the worst.
