Ikonik Ramblas

We had a lovely 2 night stay here. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We arrived before our check-in time and the staff tried to find us a room that was ready which was appreciated. They also promptly offered to store our luggage while we went out to sight-see until our room was ready and we were able to freshen up in the bathrooms downstairs! Our sink was clogged, but they had maintenance fix it while we were out during the day. The room had everything we needed and the location is very walkable to everything in the city. There is construction happening right outside the hotel as of Feb 2025 (no fault of the hotel though!)

Our first time in Barcelona. Location is excellent and we were able to walk around the Gothic quarter frequently. Room was clean, service went above and beyond, meeting a few of our requests quickly.

Short summary: + Service + OK-ish location - Nowhere worth the money - Average breakfast - Noise from the "lobby" or outside or combined - Personal rating: 3* --- Experience & Observations: Definitely not recommended for the price. One star is for the staff (professional approach, smooth check-in/out) and one star for the location — which is questionable due to Barcelona's size, vast public transport network, and taxi services. A four star hotel should not be missing basic amenities in the bathroom. On the other hand it should be able to pre-advise circumstances such as extensive road works in the main street (La Rambla, mid May 2025), which are affecting the quality of your experience (noise, limited access) and which must have been well known to the property. There are other details that should not be missed, such as not always all the food was available (missing bacon), door to the bathroom could not be closed, etc. If the rating is honest and prices adjusted, it could be a nice hotel. --- From hotel by foot: Plaça de Catalunya - 15 min (~ 1 km) Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya - 30 min (~ 2.5 km) Barceloneta Beach - 25 min (~ 2 km)
