Had the pleasure of being at Il Borro for a beautiful wedding, and the experience was nothing short of incredible. The food? Wow. Every meal was rich in flavour and beautifully presented. The hospitality? Wow. Warm, attentive, and truly welcoming from start to finish. The attention to detail? On point. Every space and moment felt thoughtfully curated. The couple made full use of the venue — from an intimate setup in the wine cellars to a powerful ceremony in the amphitheater, it was all unforgettable. Huge respect to the amazing planners who brought it together seamlessly: Anne Louise Holm Ferragamo from MadeByMade and Mpire Weddings from India — a dream team that executed everything flawlessly. A breathtaking venue and an even better experience. Grateful to have been part of it.
Amazing high end resort in a quiet Tuscan valley! Beautiful views everywhere, delicious food (3 restaurants plus other spots to grab snacks and drinks), terrific wine tours and tastings, 3 pools, tennis, golf and walking trails! Huge resort! The medieval village is wonderful! Staff was fantastic!
We spent three nights at Il Borro and I would give it a 3.5-4 star rating. We had high expectations for the resort and amenities given its marketing and third party reviews, but in comparison to similarly profiled and ranked hotels I would say that Il Borro was a bit lackluster. The staff were incredibly friendly, helpful and detail oriented, so I would give service a 5 star rating. The rooms, though very clean, felt a bit tired. There were lots of scuff marks along the walls from suitcases and other minor details that should be addressed at a five-star rated hotel. We had issues with our air conditioning during the trip, and a service person came up promptly to help fix it. My husband ended up troubleshooting the issue, but the service person was very friendly and tried to help. The restaurants were nice, however, between the three restaurants the food was very similar and uninspiring. The ingredients were very fresh and the quality was excellent, but it would be nice to see some variety between the restaurants and between the lunch and dinner menus. The three pools were stunning. Our favorite pool was the smaller pool located within the medieval village. This pool was more secluded and provided more shade, which was great during the heat of the day. Of the three pools, all were child friendly. It would be nice if there was either an adult only or child only designated pool (out of the three) or quiet hours at the pools. The pools were often pretty busy with families who took over with little regard for other patrons. The spa treatments were lovely and the spa therapists were very talented and professional. The spa itself was quite small and next to a busier area, so you could hear people outside during your treatments. There was not a spa lounge and the locker room was pretty basic. The gym on the property was well appointed and very clean. The grounds are lovely and we enjoyed hiking around, visiting the horses and looking at the historic architecture of the medieval village. Overall, Il Borro was a lovely place to visit and we enjoyed our stay; however, our experience was a bit lackluster given the marketing and praise it has received elsewhere.
