Spacious and clean. Vittorio was extremely helpful and we had a good stay.
Fantastic little hotel. It's in a wonderful location 30 metres from the sea. Our room had fabulous views across the bay. The rooms have little kitchens so it was ideal when staying for a week to be able to have a night off from eating out. The staff were very helpful and friendly and spoke excellent English...as my Italian is not great. We had a car with us and parking did worry me....Tanja in the hotel explained that parking spaces delineated in white are free, those in blue are payable and those in yellow were for residents. In the end, we found a free space for the car pretty easily but the hotel also has a number of resident parking permits for guests too, so it wouldn't have been a problem. The hotel is only a couple of minutes walk from the main promenade with all the restaurants. It's also only seven or eight minutes walk from the train station which we used quite a bit to go up and down the coast. The route to the station also goes past the Carrefour supermarket which we used from time to time to buy snacks and drinks. The hotel is also very close to all the beaches. It is actually across the road from the only free (and tiny) beach in Rapallo but there are plenty of private beaches. Most of the towns either side of Rapallo have free public beaches....which is where the train came in.
We went there for 1 week in July 2021. It's a good place to stay, very strategically located within Rapallo, right next to the waterfront but still away from the main tourist area on the lungomare. There are also an ice-cream place, a small piece of public beach, some good restaurants next door and a bakery right next door. Staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and in good shape. We had the room with the staircase (shown on the website), which we found spatious. Necessary utilities are provided and what is missing can be bought at a supermarket within 5 min walking distance. Note, it gets warm in the upstairs part that is used as the bedroom, so one needs to be able to sleep in a warm environment when selecting this room in the summer. As is many old buildings, the central staircase is large and sound travels well therin. Thus one can hear other guests arriving and leaving (this was less of a problem in the upstairs part of the room than on the ground level). It's not worse than many other places, but if one has a light sleep, it may make sense to take earplugs along. When travelling there by car, it's a good idea to book the garage the establishment offers. While this is at an extra, non-refundable cost, it is very convenient as public parking is rare in the area and the garage is quite spacious, fitting both, estate cars and vans.
