Amazing stay with Roberto. Location is perfect to explore the area and waking up to those views!! Facilities are perfect for relaxing and cooking! Supermarket close to cook up a storm. Roberto is an amazing host. So interesting to chat about farming and his recommendations for the area are brilliant! Cannot wait to return and this time get out to work. Thank you so much for a great stay
Il Poggio dell’Artilla was my first experience with an Agriturismo, and it was the best part of a two week trip through Italy with my mom! The beautiful location and incredible hospitality were second to none, and the only disappointment was that we didn’t stay longer. The family who own the farm and hosted us are the quintessential kind, welcoming, fun, hardworking, and generous Italian family. We are still smiling from the wonderful memories of our time staying with them, and we highly recommend the experience to all other travelers seeking to connect with the heart of Italian agriculture and food culture.
I have no remarks on the property, this is as presented in the photos and is indeed very lovely. However, dealing with the property hosts has tarnished the experience as there were multiple hurdles to overcome: - The hosts were coming around daily on the premise to check up. It did feel as an inspection. - When it was communicated that due to a broken sprinkler half the house was awoken every day between 2 and 3 am, it still took 3 days to take care of this in spite of being a known issue to the hosts - The male host came to water the plants at my bedroom window at 8 am, this felt extremely invasive - The Wi-Fi was nearly non existing Unfortunately, the biggest issue was concerning the waste policy. The property prides itself in being a green property which I can only applaud. However, the hosts do not provide adequate amenities to comply. A deposit of 500 euro was demanded (in cash initially but the agreed to arrange it via Airbnb eventually) of which they intend to hold 250 euro for having used 'too much plastic'. We are currently still waiting on what the non whimsical definition of 'too much plastic' would be. My advice to the owners would be: - Communication is key, please clearly communicate your expectations to the lodgers. - As a fellow Airbnb host I can understand the concerns of allowing people into your space, however it is imperative that you learn to give trust to the people and not invade their privacy in the worst possible ways - If the intend is truly to uphold a green and sustainable environment, give the right tools to guide your guest; e.g create a booklet on how to properly sort your waste (as this differs in each country), recommend shops nearby where low packaging is used, provide reusable containers/bottles to use and provide a location for people to leave unused items (there is nothing green about throwing away perfectly good canned/dry foods because nothing can be left behind)
