Il Principe Hotel

A wonderful little hotel in a perfect location. When our Airbnb around the corner did not show up or answer the phone, I decided to take matters into my own hands. I walked around the corner to Il Principe and was greeted by three wonderful staff members who graciously offered us a room for the night we needed at an exceptionally great price. We also needed two separate cabs at different times in the morning for our flights. One cab was at 4 a.m. and the other at 8 a.m. The staff happily booked them for us with their excellent driver service, and each ride cost $30. The rooms at Il Principe are basic but clean, and everything you need is there. While they’re not anything to write home about, they’re sufficient for a night’s stay. I will definitely be back to Il Principe next time I need a hotel in Catania.

We were especially pleased by the quality of the breakfast, which exceeded expectations. A generous selection of fresh and well-prepared options was available, making it the perfect start to what would be a long day ahead. Overall, our experience at the Il Principe was highly positive, and we would not hesitate to stay here again in the future. The combination of excellent service, comfort, and thoughtful hospitality makes it a standout choice.

Nice hotel in a great location! Good staff. Lovely breakfast buffet. Comfortable room but not too large, with comfortable bed. The drains in both the sink and toilet/ bidet would close (on their own) and then get stuck closed. It was frustrating , as there is no easy way to open them. Weird elevator with a one-track-mind... It doesn't remember more than one button at a time, so don't push 5-3-4 or everyone will go first to 5, then need to re-push the others. AND... Believe the 4 person limit!
