My friend and I spent 5 nights at Il Sogno di Lina during our trip through Italy. The photos are very realistic, but the real views take your breath away. We had breakfast on the patio off the kitchen every day and sat out every evening. Such a serene and beautiful place to stay. It was difficult to leave. Michele and Rosaria were very helpful. The house was immaculate and had everything we needed. In the months leading up to our stay, Michele arranged our excursions, both of which picked us up and dropped us off at the house. This is very important if you are not travelling with a car. We did take a bus into Massa Lubrense to get some groceries and were unable to get a return bus so we walked. It was a 25-30 minute walk so not terrible. We also took the bus into Sorrento which was an easy way to get there. there is a bus stop very close to the house. You can take a bus back, you just have to be aware of the schedule. We took a taxi because it was easier - just quite expensive. I recommend having dinner at Il Cantuccio while you are there. Michele arranged for them to pick us up and bring us back after dinner. The food and staff were wonderful. Overall, our experience amazing! I highly recommend Il Sogno di Lina if you are visiting this area.
My family of 5 (including 3 teens) stayed at this wonderful property for 7 nights in early August. Everything about it is perfect. The view is absolutely stunning whether waking up to the beautiful glistening blue water or watching the sunset from the roof deck, with Capri always in view. The house was pristine, the beds were comfortable, and we had every amenity we needed including coffee, tea, beach towels, wi-fi...you name it. The air conditioning, which is super important for us Americans, was indeed true air conditioning and a welcome relief after some very hot outdoor adventures. It made for very comfortable sleeping. The hosts Michele and Rosaria are a delight, leaving a very nice welcome basket of goodies for us. Rosaria even stopped by one evening and brought us some fresh tomatoes and basil from her garden. Michele is at your disposal to book excursions. He arranged dinner in Massa Lubrensa center and days at a local beach club for us, including free transportation there and back. As the description says, this property is 5km from Sorrento center so, if you'd like to venture there and you don't have your own car, be prepared to take the bus or pay for a taxi, the latter of which can be quite expensive in high season. For us, it was worth it since this place was so incredible in every way.
We - newly baked couple in love - stayed at Michele's house for one week on our first holiday together. Even without this inherent filter, it really is a unique experience. The house is beautiful, ultra clean, has spacious bedrooms and a lovely, fully functional kitchen with gas stove and oven. The bathroom is functional and, as everything else, very clean. The bedrooms and kitchen have air conditioning, which is quiet and efficient and very much appreciated on hot and humid days. But even if the inside is hard to beat, the true beauty of the house is waiting outside - either on the balcony outside the kitchen, or on the rooftop terrace. It's a breathtaking view which is really addictive, at any hour of the day or night (and I think we've sampled pretty much everything - sun set, sun rise, moon rise, moon set, plain day, plain night...). I would say that this is the only drawback of staying at Michele's house - since you are pretty much on the most beautiful point of the coast, it's hard to get motivated to go away and visit something else :). But once you do, there is of course much more there that is worth experiencing - Capri (lovely day trip by boat arranged by Michele), Pompeii, the Amalfi coast... The lemon trees and the peach tree outside were another sweet touch. The peaches were great and we made 'lemon water' (slices of fresh lemon plus hot water) every morning. One does need a car, although I guess it is in principle possible to walk to the centre of Massa Lubrense (we liked the Grace bar, but there is a lot of choice). Everything Michele recommended was great, and he was always ready to help and just a great person to know. He really is a super host! Although there were still signs of the Corona crisis, they were all benign (mainly - try to remember taking the face mask with you), and we enjoyed in all selfishness being among the (comparatively speaking) very few tourists on the coast. It was great walking in the desert streets of Pompeii - although obviously a disaster for tourism and a pity for all people not able to share in it. This review could go on and on, but I guess the message is clear - just go and see for yourselves, and you'll never regret.
