Iliada Hotel

We drove in as it started snowing in December. The hotel transformed into a Winter Wonderland. It was stunning. This is a really lovely place. The rooms are spacious, and warm in winter. Comfortable and pleasant. The food, breakfast and dinner, was really good, with good variety and very tasty. But ther service was exceptional. Despite a language barrier, the main elderly waiter went out of his way to serve us, to ensure that we were at ease and that there was nothing lacking. We had never been in snow before, let alone driven in snow, and he did his best to put us at ease, to clear the road and car and help us enjoy the snow.

Superb. Old-school hospitality. You seldom find places like this anymore, at any price. A slice of heaven in the mountains.

Although the location and the surroundings are awesome, the hotel is outdated but maintained OK. Services are poor but again, it is a great escape.
