Illa Experience Hotel

This is an attractive hotel in a nice part of the city. It is built within and around a historic home. Most of the modern touches are tasteful and the decore definitely highlights its authentic character. The restaurant is good, but perhaps a bit over the top. The best thing about Illa is the people that work there. They are warm, attentive, and very professional. I’d definitely return to this hotel.

First night in Quito.. wonderful service.. friendly staff and delicious food. The room was comfortable and well appointed. Location is within walking distance to many shops and restaurants as well as the main Plaza. The staff is amazing and went out of there way to assist us. Unique afternoon cultural experiences were informative and interesting as well.

We stayed 4 nights. This is a boutique hotel in the Old City with a lovely view of Quito, especially in the direction of the statue of Virgin Mary. The view from the restaurant and breakfast room being absolutely stunning. Sort of walkable to the Plaza Grande. Highs: Spacious suite room, windows that can open if you desire fresh air. Excellent bed and bathroom. Quiet. Service as a whole excellent. In house restaurant very good. Breakfast is combination of buffet and cooked items with great variety and freshness. Lows: Suite amenities could be better. Soap dispensers were unlabelled and didn't dispense. We had to unscrew the container to pour out the soap. Bedroom slippers not provided. Turn down service spotty. We had to remind them the next day after they missed turn down one day.
