Stayed in standard twin room. - well maintained room : very clean, comfortable bed. - clean bathrooms, no complain - food is ok. - there are many nearby bakery, local markets, etc. - free rental umbrella service: excellent for rainy days (i visited in May) - rainy day: air quality is better, not so hot.. - overall , it is worthy to stay.

Inhouse Taichung is sited near the Taichung Train Station. The rooms are clean and there is a small gym for use. However it has several areas to work on: 1. The breakfast menu is the same every day. This doesn't matter if you are only staying for 1 night or 2, but for travellers staying for a longer period, this is a detractor. 2. Air conditioning issues. We saw in a previous review on another platform that sometimes, depending on your luck, you may get a room with poor air flow. The staff will tell you that this is how their air conditioning works and it's the same in all rooms. We encountered this issue and insisted on a change in room. The air flow in the new room was much better, so this is an issue that depends on the room allocated. 3. And this leads to the largest issue of all - staff attitudes. The staff operate on a SOP basis and are polite but not welcoming. When requesting for a change in room. I was made to feel as if the issue was with me and not the room. When performing service recovery, this is not the sort of impression a hotel would want to convey to its guests. One of the hotel staff was also preoccupied on the phone even when on active duty at the breakfast area. When I spoke with her regarding some food item, she nodded even as her eyes were glued to her screen. In normal social situations, it is polite to make eye contact with the person you are speaking with, not to mention when you are a service staff attending to a customer. All in all, we had a decent stay after the room replacement, but despite the good location, I would hesitate to stay here again.
