If you want the full Maine experience this is it! We spent 4 incredible nights here with our 2 kids. So much to do for all ages- pool, paths in the woods to unique beaches, smores, bowling, games, basketball. Rooms have kitchenettes so you don’t have to eat all meals out but restaurants are delicious and servers are so friendly if you do. Spacious high-ceilinged rooms. Can’t wait to come back.
Do NOT book at the Diamond Cove Inn if you don’t want to risk major disappointment. Booked this place for my girlfriends birthday, drove 5 hours to get here, was about to get on the ferry at around 3:15 (after check in time) and THEN got a notification that they had oversold the hotel and I no longer had a room. No other rooms were available in any Portland hotel so we ended up having to stay at a seedy Airbnb ruining the trip. If we hadn’t taken public transit to get here we would’ve just gone home. Such a sad way to spend the day due to a seedy hotel policy. What’s the point in them offering to cover the stay of a new hotel if there are NO other hotels available? Don’t let this be you- waiting to board a ferry and then having to waste two hours of your day going around to other hotels asking if they have room openings.
I booked this hotel through Expedia. I bought the insurance. After booking, I realized we couldn’t get there by car. We were only staying one night- brief to sleep. I cancelled within 2hrs of booking. The inn wouldn’t refund me! Terrible customer service! Why wouldn’t you refund when you know you can rebook it? Not even a partial refund was considered! I have NEVER experienced this type of hotel rule. Wow- very disappointing!
