This place is an amazing haven for anyone wanting to get away from it all!! My husband and I appreciated the succulent and cacti landscaping (I'm a plant nerd), which had huge Agaves that were clearly old and mature. Many were towering over our heads; they were massive! There is even a vegetable garden within a caged outbuilding (to keep little critters out). I may have to build one of those myself! The whole property is carefully curated. The owner lives on site, and is available if needed. He's super friendly, and we just "clicked." If you want to feel like you're in a peaceful, private resort, look no further. You've found it! We happened to be the lucky first couple to use the newly refurbished spa, which had been sitting idle for quite some time. What a pleasure! The spa is so large, it could easily hold several couples without feeling over crowded. We were fortunate enough to experience this beauty alone, which added to our enjoyment. We were astounded at the amount of thoughtfulness the owner put into this Inn. The main lodge is a masterpiece of carefully curated pieces, and I was memorized by the vintage artwork, books, jewelry, and overall architectural details. Our room happened to have a cozy balcony overlooking the lodge! I sat there in a comfortable armchair and enjoyed the massive space while reading my book and drinking coffee or wine. Each of the main suites has a seating/lounging area just outside the room to relax. If we had stayed longer, we might have used it, it looked very inviting! The suite itself was comfortable and gorgeous!!! I can't say enough to thoroughly describe how much we enjoyed our stay, we will always look at this as a special place to go to unwind. Definitely worth trying it out, especially if you appreciate relaxing with art, nature, and near perfect surroundings. PS: (Sorry, Steve, I should have posted this a while ago, but I got busy.)
Inn Paradiso was a beautiful and relaxing oasis from the world. Outside, the grounds offers a gallery of enjoyments, including beautiful trees, flowers, a pool, a grassy field, and sheltered and well-shaded corners to relax in the sun. Inside, the decor is cozy and full of personality, with beautiful original artwork and world artifacts collected by the hands of a curator that knows what they're doing. It is clear that a lot of love has gone into this place. We hope we get to return soon!
This place on it's own deserves five stars - it's a beautiful property, the rooms are eclectically and thoughtfully designed, and it's overall a very intimate, comfortable, and chill spot. However, our stay in the Artist Studio had a bee hive in the bathroom walls. It's established enough that we could hear the vibrations and buzzing during the day, and noticed swarms of bees in the nearby trees. When I spoke with the property manager about it, he didn't show much concern except that the bees had to live somewhere and they must love the lavender. I would have expected at minimum an expression of concern, a change in room or discount for our stay would have been better. Or maybe a commitment to address it right away. But because of the response we got, I imagine this is not something that will be taken care of anytime soon. And I get that every place has it's give and take, there was a lot to love about this property- but with a 5 star hotel I would have expected at least a daily skim of the pool. It's a refreshing hang on hot days, but I didn't feel comfortable enjoying it as much as I would have if I didn't have the concern that one of these dang bees would go for a bath in the pool and sting me.
