We stayed for a week at the 4 seasons hotel at the train station. Our room number 118. The team is professional and accommodating. The location is superb, directly at the city centre, 5 minutes away from the beach. You do not hear the train arriving or departing when you are in the room. Our wish for a bathtub was considered since we were travelling with our toddler. The breakfast selection was great. What we found challenging was the quality of the rooms. For 220 euros / per night incl. breakfast our expectations were not met with regards to: 1) bathroom outdated and not properly maintained 2) furniture not well taken care of 3) layers of dust on the closet 4) no dinner offered in the hotel, one needs to walk to another 4 seasons at the beach 5) we considered it a plus point that we could also use the indoor swimming pool from the other 4 seasons hotel at the beach. We were surprised to find stones in the pool. We hope above will help to improve. We do not plan to return. Best regards,
The price for renting the hotel is very high, the hotel is already old. I would not recommend it to people because there are newer and better hotels near this hotel with good renovation and staff.
We spent the weekend in Borkum and stayed 2 nights in the Inselhotel 4 Jahreszeiten. First and last time, unfortunately. Let me start with good things: The room is not bad: not large but spacious enough, with a comfortable bed The receptionist with the beard and the IT man understand customer service Pool Now the negative points: Apart from the staf mentioned above, the staff was unfriendly and at times simply rude. In the restaurant they nicely indicated walking routes due to covid. If you make one wrong step you will be yelled at (I am looking at you short-blonde-haired lady). The lift is as slow as a snail that just ate a sleeping tablet Arrival from ferry is 11 am. You would expect that a 4 * hotel is ready for this, but NO, rooms ready at 2 pm. They offer to take hold of your luggage though (in an area accessible to literally anyone on the island) Breakfast: you ask for a cheese omelette with peppers, you get a cheese omelette without peppers. You sit at the table and see everyone get served coffee, while forgetting my table. In the end have to get up and request it at the bar Having a drink on the outside terrace: payment by bankcard not possible. You are asked to walk all over the island to find an atm. Unbelievable that cash-payments are so prevalent here. Room: bathroom looks clean but smells of urine. Wifi is unstable and does not connect well if you have an iphone I had clearly expected more from this hotel. Unfortunately cannot recommend. 2 stars for the effort.
