Lovely people, comfortable rooms, awesome breakfast.
4 star - no. The room was a nice size, but the floor is sticky. We put some water bottles in the mini fridge and they come out sticky. There were zero toiletries. The shampoo/conditioner combo (yuck if you have long hair) was empty and there was no soap at all. There was a coffee maker, but no coffee, no cups and no glasses. There is no tissue. We called to ask for coffee, cups, glasses and tissue. We waited over 30 minutes. We finally left the room to get dinner. Upon returning and showering is when we discovered the shampoo dispenser was empty and there was no soap. The gym looks nice. We'll try to restaurant breakfast tomorrow. The location is right across the street from the metro and mall that has lots of shopping and restaurants. So that's nice. But housekeeping failed on this room. * just got in bed and the sheet is ripped! FAIL Continuation: we did try breakfast this morning. It was a decent selection of fruits and breads. Then we went to the gym and pool. There were no towels, so we went to reception to ask for towels. They gave us 2 for the pool and said someone would bring us towels for the gym. The gym equipment is very nice. After 20 minutes on the elliptical, still no towels. :/ Had to go back down to reception to request. The pool was very nice for a non-resort hotel. Long enough to swim laps. Very refreshing since it's not heated.
Our stay at Hotel Intercity Tatuapé had both highs and lows. We arrived late at night, exhausted, and were met by a front desk staff member (I think his name was Allan) who was completely non-empathic and unwelcoming. It honestly felt like he was annoyed by our presence—chill, dude! To make things worse, there was no one to help us with our luggage, which was frustrating after a long journey. Thankfully, the experience improved the next day. Two lovely ladies at the front desk were kind, helpful, and even made funny faces to entertain my baby. They also helped me call a beauty salon and book an appointment, which was a thoughtful gesture. The rooms were spacious, with enough room for our travel crib. Breakfast was great, and I especially loved that the baby high chairs were safe and easy to use. The restaurant staff was respectful and professional. However, the freezer in the room was very small, making it difficult to store the frozen baby food I brought from home. The pool water was extremely cold, and there was nothing to warm it up, which made it unusable. Also, we had an issue with room access—even after explaining that my husband’s brother was on level five while we were on level six, the hotel refused to update our key card settings, so we couldn’t visit their room. Overall, it was a decent stay with great daytime staff and comfortable rooms, but poor service from the night staff, no luggage assistance, and inconvenient policies regarding room access left us frustrated. A little more attention to guest comfort would go a long way!
