It's our second time here and so far we have had a good experience. However, today, a contractor came to repair something, and they have been drilling the wall 15 minutes already. No previous communication from the hotel before. My baby woke up from it. At the reception desk, they didn't give any solution (for example, changing rooms), and they acted completely uninterested about it. For reference: August 1st from 10 to 10.20am.
The room at IntercityHotel Darmstadt was small but clean and had windows that opened, which was great. However, the service from a woman at the front desk was disappointing. After checkout, we stored our luggage and stepped out for lunch when we got back around 2pm I asked to use the restroom, but she said there wasn’t one in the lobby — despite a sign. She refused to check if my room was still available, without even asking my room number. We had to walk to the train station to use a restroom. She also told us to get our luggage ourselves from the storage room. Not the kind of service I expected.
The carpet in corridors and room looks worn and with a lot of stains, giving the impression of not clean. This impacts the appreciation of the room and bathroom, both of which were clean. The service at reception desk was spotless, very welcoming and helpful. Located next to the train station.
