Overall, this hotel is very nice! The rooms had a very high quality feel and the staff was very nice. Having the complimentary local transport ticket during my stay was also excellent. Finally, a big thank you to the staff for helping us with dinner reservations on two nights. Abraham was absolutely wonderful at recommendations and scheduling reservations.
Overall, a nice and convenient hotel. However, I must remove two stars for: LACK OF AIR CONDITIONING!!! Look, I applaud Swiss environmentalism, and on principle, I totally understand why this would be a thing. However, in practice, this is just madness. It was 90 F / 32.2 F in our room. It's not possible to get good rest in these conditions. Multiple hosts / receptionists said something to the effect of "the cool air of the lake is brought in, but it's not the same as having 15 C air conditioning) and...that is just insufficient. The very least they could do is add some standing fans into the room. Even at -3 C + fan speed 3 (both the lowest temp and the highest fan speed), the fan BARELY whispered. It was imperceptible. Jesus. +1 star each for: friendliness, nice and clean rooms, and location near train transit with free transit pass (as well as being right next to the airport). Just DON'T go here in the summer! 🥵🥵🥵
Room was booked for one person, but upon arrival, I found that the couch had been made up as an additional bed. I had to request twice for the extra bed to be removed, which was inconvenient. The room itself had several maintenance issues: - The shower head was leaking. - The Duvet cover was ripped, which gave a poor impression of room upkeep. - The phone in the room was not working. - The toilet flush was faulty; after flushing, water continued to run and I had to press the button again to stop it. Cleanliness was also an issue. The floor had not been properly cleaned — there were sticky marks, what appeared to be tomato paste, and bread crumbs on the floor. Although I requested housekeeping to clean the room, the floor remained unclean even after their visit. Overall, the experience was disappointing due to the lack of proper maintenance and cleanliness.
