IntercityHotel Karlsruhe

Great proximity to the train station! Just steps away and a super place to stay if you are day tripping out of Karlsruhe. Clean, comfortable and modern hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. Arrived very early from our flight and our bags were stored until check-in time. The linens were lovely and clean. Comfortable bed but the duvet was so hot! Took it out and stored it and slept with sheets only. The shower was wonderful and large and great water pressure. Soap/shampoo were running low. The only complaint was that in our 4 day stay, there was no maid service, despite we requested it for the 3rd night, and left notice on the door, so none of the supplies were replenished (shampoo was running low and the toilet tissue was critically low, etc). Getting back to hotel late at night we were so tired we didn’t go back to front desk to get some supplies so we managed with what we had. I would stay here again but ensure the supplies were topped up.

Rooms have plenty of space. Amenities are okish, would have expected soap and shampoo to be checked prior to check in as bottles were empty upon arrival. The room seem clean at first, but on day 2 I found train tickets and plane labels from a previous guest underneath the closet and bed, which made me wonder to what extend they clean the entire room or only what is visible at first sight.

Terrible experience. The bathroom drain was completely clogged, and water overflowed in the room. But the worst part was the staff — extremely rude and unprofessional. When we reported the issue, they acted like it was our fault and refused to help or even apologize. I’ve stayed in many hotels, but I’ve never been treated this poorly. Avoid this place at all costs.
