After spending several wonderful days in Baku, I would like to praise and commend the InterContinental Hotel and the wonderful staff that works there. The employees here Very hard working to make you feel comfortable and good. Always smiling and welcoming. I would especially like to mention the talented chef Vugar Ceyhun , And the dining room staff Lamiye and lovely medina. Baku is a beautiful, clean and welcoming city. Great location, nice building overall with beautiful marble tiles and paintings, smiling staff especially doorman. Offered us extra hour for later check out for free. However it’s far from five star facility and here is why: Cleaning was not done well, I have found previous guest bunch of hairs sticked on the wall in the bathroom which is unacceptable. I asked to bring more water twice and was completely ingnored. Important to mention that textile is old with stains on the towels, little holes on the bedding, bathrobes are just not comfy enough as you expected. Bathroom kits are just low quality as it’s 3 star, especially toothpaste.

The Club InterContinental Lounge was the highlight of our stay — the staff were exceptionally welcoming and went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. The hotel’s location is also excellent. However, we encountered several service-related issues. Despite placing a request and informing the front desk at 8:50 AM that I would be leaving for the airport at 11:00 AM — and offering to settle my soft drink charges and check out in advance — no staff member followed up, even by the time the taxi arrived. Unfortunately, this reflects a lack of professionalism and coordination. Additionally, our room was not cleaned despite placing the sign and notifying the front desk early in the morning. The air conditioning was ineffective, and room service response was consistently slow. These aspects fell short of expectations for a hotel of this standard
